Position Summary: You will perform accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and disclosures for our Dutch Group companies. You will also be ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting standards. Finally, you will provide assistance on complex client transactions (capital calls, distributions, sale & purchase of assets, complex loans, etc.) and manage the booking in the accounting system.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting and consolidation.
- Assistance with financial audit and internal control.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards (such as local GAAP or IFRS).
- Responsible for the statutory filings with the Dutch chamber of commerce.
- Producing trial balances, balance sheets and profit & loss accounts as well as accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
- Journal entries including accruals and prepayments.
- Maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures.
- Assisting with the corporate tax return and personal wage tax return.
- VAT administration.
- Review the tax returns, such as CIT, Wage tax and VAT.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Assisting in annual budget and forecast preparation.
- Monitor and update management of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
- Provide support and guidance to staff, answering questions related to accounting matters and assist in general administrative task.
- Responsible for various administrative and other additional tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements.
Qualification:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy or Economy.
- A completed degree in charted accountancy (RA or CPA) is a plus.
- 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles including Dutch GAAP and affinity with IFRS.
- Knowledge of tax law (CIT, VAT and wage tax).
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles.
- An excellent written and spoken knowledge of English.
